Most new college graduates would jump on a job offer with a highly-respected, nationally-known brokerage firm in order to gain valuable experience at the beginning of their career. Perry Moore paused, carefully considered his options, and said “no, thank you” to the only job offer on the table when he graduated from college.
It was a bold move, and one that caused his friends and family some anxiety on his behalf. But Perry knew what he wanted: to work with a firm doing real planning for clients based in a way that put clients interests first. “The job I turned down was basically a sales job,” he says. “I knew I wanted to do so much more than just sell, I wanted to work as a fiduciary adviser and help families live their best life.” So with no other firm job offers on the horizon, he began to study for the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™(CFP) exam. He sat for his CFP exam in March of 2005, joined Payne Wealth Partners in April, and was notified that he had passed his CFP in July. And he’s been here ever since.

Perry leads the Wealth Planning division at Payne Wealth Partners, which focuses on helping clients relate their wealth to what is and will be most important in their lives. He completed Chartered Financial Consultant TM (ChFC) course work, which is a continuation of his CFP® education, in 2007 and in 2011 earned his M.B.A. at the University of Southern Indiana. Perry specializes in helping business owners with their unique wealth planning challenges. He also earned his CERTIFIED BUSINESS EXIT CONSULTANT TM designation through Pinnacle Equity Solutions and leads the business exit planning process with business owner clients.
Outside of the office, spending time with friends and family and tackling home improvement projects are high on the list. Perry is also a woodworker and likes to hunt and fish, although he prefers to spend most of his time making memories with his wife Amanda and children Emma and Ethan.

“…it’s all about my kids Emma and Ethan at the moment- they are involved in more activities than I can count! Some of the most rewarding time I can spend is with my family and other families we have befriended through our kids. I continue to learn a lot about life from Emma and Ethan while also trying to be a good teacher to these miracles God has entrusted to Amanda and me.
“…I really enjoy mowing the grass at home (as crazy as that sounds) and had just purchased a John Deere riding lawnmower. The great part about this rider is that it has a place for a cold diet coke, a comfortable seat and a spot to set an iPod so that you can use headphones to listen to your favorite music. Who could call that work? Anyway, I was jamming to some Kenny Chesney while mowing the back yard and evidently started having too much fun. When I came back inside my wife Amanda said I was singing (if you can call it that) so loud that the whole neighborhood could hear me! Our neighbor Charlie even commented on how much fun I was having mowing the grass. Guess I have a knack for finding the fun in anything!”
